Affirmations Are Power
I am strong. I am beautiful. I am magic. I can do great things. My struggles do not define me.
If you have been following my journey, you know that affirmations are a big part of it. I post a new visual affirmation every Monday on Instagram, I sell affirmation cards and I am always advocating for incorporating affirmations into your daily routine. So basically, I use the term affirmations a lot. I truly believe that they have the power to change your world. But what are they and how do you use them?
What are affirmations?
Affirmations are words or phrases that help condition our subconscious. To be honest, anything we say to ourselves repeatedly can be considered an affirmation whether it is positive or negative. Our inner-thoughts have a lot of power over our mood, emotions and how we interact with others. This is why the use of positive affirmation and being aware of negative affirmations is so important. If you’re constantly telling yourself negative things, you will eventually start to believe them.
Positive Affirmations have the power to combat harmful behaviors such as negative self-talk and self-doubt. They can also help us to have a better self-perception and accomplish goals. Replace your negative thoughts with positive statements. For example, instead of saying “I suck at this” say “I am still learning”. Watch what happens! When you foster a positive environment internally, you have the power to create one externally.
So how do you make sure you are using affirmations effectively?
